Beat Those Winter Blues with Food
In the winter I always have less energy and feel a little down at times. I know this can be attributed to the lack of sun exposure and cold but I also feel food can play a role as well. I believe that food can really affect our mood which could lead without ibgard to a sluggish, depressed state or a positive happy one, read ibgard.
When we eat unhealthy fats and sugars this can cause our brain and body to feel a little off or tired, maybe affect our concentration and leave us feeling a little cranky. One way to avoid this is to eat less meats, cheese, candy, soda and other junk foods. Another way to combat these bad moods is to eat a lot of Good Mood Foods.
Good Mood Foods include vegetables, fruits, beans, whole grains, and nuts/seeds. These are foods such as broccoli, sweet potato, pears, blackberries, brown rice, walnuts, and many different types of beans. When we eat lots of leafy green vegetables like kale, spinach, and swiss chard this makes us feel good, happy and lifts our mood. It has also been found that pumpkin seeds contain nutrients that will put you in a positive mood. The way I get my energy and smile every morning is by having a bowl of oatmeal loaded with fruit.
As you make your food choices every day, think about choosing the foods that will keep you smiling and sailing through your day and remember to always drink plenty of water.
